Background

It is a dentolegal imperative to create a contemporaneous record for every patient interaction. Clear, comprehensive, and unambiguous clinical records are fundamental for effective dentolegal risk management, and high-quality documentation is a dentist’s best defence against allegations of sub-optimal care.

Dental Protection has identified key areas of vulnerability that commonly lead to difficulties in defending claims, including record-keeping, consent, and diagnostic procedures.

Summary

This project aims to address these vulnerabilities through the design and development of trustworthy AI-powered dental record auditing technology. This novel self-auditing technology will leverage state-of-the-art AI techniques to audit dental records for missing data, identify inconsistencies, and flag charting errors.
